An Accra Fast Track court will on Friday rule on application to strike out a case against government on its engagement with West Blue Ghana limited.

This was after the Attorney General (AG) on Monday prayed the court to dismiss the case for want of capacity and further questioned the jurisdiction of the case brought against it.

The plaintiff contends that the possible engagement of their company affects his economic rights.

He argued that the presidents directive to the Minister of Finance to engage West Blue flouts the procurement law, further describing the move as discriminatory.

The Finance Minister Seth Tekper, in an interview with Citi News defended government’s decision to award the contract to West Blue Consulting.

He indicated that the award of the contract is in line with international ports standards.

Seth Terkper pointed out that for a very long time, functions at the ports such as pre-shipment inspection, destination inspection, the evaluation and classification function were wrongly being carried out.
