A group calling itself the Concerned Citizens of Efutu Constituency in the Central Region has appealed to President John Mahama to appoint Mike Alan Hammah as a Minister of State in his administration.
According to Citi News’ Central Regional correspondent, Akwesi Koranteng the group says appointing Mike Hammah will fill the vacuum that was created after the former MP lost his seat.
[contextly_sidebar id=”AsjTU0uFt5rAIc9hWhrFvlHAC4Gdifjf”]At the press conference, the Chairman of the group, Mr. H.A. Bonney, a chief at Nsuoekyire said that during Hammah’s tenure of office, there was huge improvement in the constituency.
“Indeed Efutu witnessed monumental development during the tenure of office of Honourable Alan Hammah, an MP and a Minister of State,” he said, “There was also a proper link between the people in the constituency and the Central Government.”
“We, the concerned citizens of Efutu are therefore appealing to His Excellency, the President John Dramani Mahama to consider this as a matter of importance to appoint Honourable Alan Hammah as a Minister of State,” he added.
The group also advised the former NDC MP to consider contesting for the seat again in the 2016 polls.
“We appeal to Honourable Mike Alan Hammah to consider the possibility of contesting the constituency primaries of his party,” the spokesperson of the group said. It is our belief that with our concerted efforts and unity of purpose, the Efutu constituency shall rise up to the challenges facing our people, especially with Honourable Hammah as our political leader.”
