The Accra International Conference Centre (AICC) will from July 29 through July 31 be filled with Techies and geeks from across Ghana.
You can call it Africa’s version of the West’s Consumer Electronic Show (CES) which is first of its kind to hit Ghana’s capital.
It’s called Africa Mobile & ICT Expo 2015, an event organised by Coasters Company Limited in partnership with the Ministry of Communications and Samsung.
The programme which was officially launched last week at the Holiday Inn Hotel, will bring together Apps/Software developers, programmers, tech engineers, mobile technology lovers, students, device manufacturers, telcos, regulators and policy makers, investors and enthusiasts of the ICT industry under one roof. The 3-day mega Expo which starts from 0900GMT to 2100GMT daily, would come in four segments:
THOUGHT-LEADERSHIP CONFERENCE
Here is a line-up of exciting speakers from mobile operators, regulators, consumer brands as well as industries and organizations with direct or indirect link to the mobile technology sector.
The speakers cut across banking and finance, health, education, agriculture, entertainment and telecommunication. Keynote Speakers will be carefully selected to bring perspective to the theme from their own individual elds of endeavour all geared at achieving the maximum impact.
CONFERENCES & SEMINARS
Beyond the Thought Leadership Conference, the conference will address a wide range of topics across the mobile industry, with presentations by business executives and industry experts from companies and organisations.
ICT JOB FAIR
This fair seeks to Financially and economically empower the youth by helping them identify opportunities for employment and job creation in the mobile technology and ICT sectors.
Expert Desks will be setup where entrepreneurs, graduates and even students will have a rare opportunity of one-on-one engagement with successful practitioners within the value chain of Information Communication Technology. This segment will also highlight on funding of tech startups and SMEs.
APPWORLD
A permanent and exciting feature of MOBEX is AppWorld. By this platform we are offering an invaluable lifetime opportunity to attendants and visitors to learn and interact with a constellation of local mobile app developers.
This segment is an initiative targeted at young app developers to innovate, connect and network with device manufacturers and investors. It will also give consumers an insight into what goes into the building of mobile apps and its usage. They will thus largely be helping drive patronage of local content in the global appshere for job creation and revenue generation.
NEXT GENERATION
This will be an exhibition of futuristic products and services. This initiative will create the forum for tech devices and consumables manufacturers to launch new products and also give consumers sneak peek into yet to be released products and solutions. This is to generate excitement among consumers and give feedback to industry.
George Spencer Quaye, Chief Entrepreneur of Coasters Company Limited, organisers of the event is of the view that Information and Communication Technology (ICT) is fast changing today’s world and Africans must not sit on the fence but utilise it to better their lives.
