Ahead of the much anticipated by-election for the Talensi constituency in the Upper East Region on July 7 , 2015, the National Democratic Congress has set June 21 to conduct their primaries to get a candidate for the election.

Speaking to Citi News, Talensi Constituency Director of Elections for the National Democratic Congress, Bozongo Maxwell said all is set for their primaries.
“The party as I speak to you has opened nominations, …one person has also filed to my best of knowledge.We are working around the clock and we think that at least if nothing disrupts, we will by the 21st conduct our primaries.”
NPP Talensi Primaries set for June 27
Meanwhile Talensi Constituency Secretary for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Mr. Yipong has told Citi News the NPP has set the 21st of June for their Parliamentary primaries.
“The NPP is preparing to elect our candidates.We just started our nominations and it is closing tomorrow. Tomorrow all the candidates will file and after the filing we shall have vetting on the 17th June which is Wednesday and then follow up with primaries on the 21st of this month.”
“About three contestants have filed and the three that have picked so far will surely maintain the seat for us”
