The Ashanti Regional Coordination Council has described as unfortunate the demonstration by some senior citizens in Kumasi in the Ashanti Region on Tuesday.
The senior men and women between the ages of 60 to 80 took to the streets of Kumasi to protest what they describe as the worsening economic crisis in the country.
They explained that their protest was to express their displeasure over the power crisis.

“It is rather unfortunate that our mothers and grandmothers come out to demonstrate.I think there has been commitment on the part of government to address issues relating to power outages and that has been made clear. Of course we all agree that power outages institute negative impact on the livelihood of people and that of businesses so we have to have confidence and believe in what the President is saying.”
