The flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Akufo-Addo on Tuesday visited the party’s headquarters at Asylum Down in Accra to assess the security situation on the premises.
Some NPP youth group called the Invisible Force took control of the Asylum Down headquarters after news broke of the murder of the Upper East Regional chairman, Adam Mahama.

Hundreds of party youth besieged the premises to protest and demand the impeachment of the two national officers but the intervention of the Ghana Police Service forestalled any possible violence.
Citi News’ Sammi Wiafe reported that Nana Addo “was there to get first hand information as to why the Invisible Force took over the party headquarters.”
The NPP flagbearer was briefed by the National Organizer, John Boadu who explained the takeover of the office’s security by the Invisible Force.
Nana Addo was also briefed on recent developments within the party, including the increasing calls for Afoko and Agyepong to step aside.
“Nana Addo said that because he is the leader of the party, it is right for him to come to the headquarters so that he will be given a proper breakdown on party matters,” reported Sammi Wiafe.
