President John Dramani Mahama has called on the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) to ensure fairness in the load shedding exercise.
[contextly_sidebar id=”HLa3FhL9rHsGw9TIffwWoYRI5WyEaJyg”]ECG is currently shedding a 12 hours light, 24 hours with no light system across the country.
The exercise has been triggered by the inconsistent power supply in the country.
President while addressing workers at the May Day celebration in Accra on Friday though conceded that there were problems with power generation further called on the power managers to ensure professionalism in the exercise.
He said although government is doing everything possible to reverse the current electricity challenges, it was for the workers to ensure that their performance was above reproach.
He said “our power supply challenges are temporary and we will soon consider them to be a bad nightmare from which we have awoken.”
President Mahama also said plans are far advanced to export power barges from Turkey into the country adding that government is also considering coal and renewable energy to supplement Ghana’s power needs.
