Gregory Afoko, brother of New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) National Chairman, Paul Afoko has been arraigned before an Accra Court for his alleged role in the acid attack that killed the party’s Upper East Regional Chairman, Adam Mahama.
He has been charged with murder.
Adam Mahama was attacked by two persons last Thursday.
Gregory Afoko was subsequently arrested in connection with the attack but the other accomplice is on the run.
According to the charge sheet presented by the Police, Gregory Afoko on the day the incident happened was with the man who is currently at large.
Citi News‘ Fred Djabanor who was in court reported that, “the man escaped with his wife leaving their baby behind after he had hints that the Police were after him.”
Earlier, Chairman of the NPP, Paul Afoko had defended his brother, saying, Gregory Afoko was asleep at the time the incident happened.
