The Interior Minister, Mark Owen Woyongo has condemned the renewed chieftaincy clashes in Bunkprugu/Yunyoo district of the Northern Region.

Several houses were torched during the clashes which necessitated a dusk till dawn curfew imposed on Bunkprugu Township.
The Interior Minister visited the troubled Bunkprugu Township where he emphasized peaceful co-existence.
According to Mark Woyongo, government was getting fed up with the renewed chieftaincy and land clashes continuously recorded in the Bunkprugu/Yunyoo district.
He made a passionate appeal to overlord of the Mamprugu traditional area, the Nayiri Mahami Bahigu Sheriga to permanently resolve the problems.
He reprimanded residents of the Bunkprugu/Yunyoo district to be law abiding.
Mark Woyongo downplayed calls on government to lift the curfew imposed on Bunkprugu Township for socio-economic activities to triumph.
