The National Democratic Congress in the Ashanti Region has responded to the New Patriotic Party’s flagbearer, Nana Akufo-Addo comments on their operation “1 million votes in Ashanti for Mahama.”

Nana Akufo-Addo has described the NDC’s vision as a “mirage” and something that “will not happen.”
He said this during a speech to NPP supporters at the Subin constituency in the Ashanti region.
According to Nana Addo, leadership of the NPP have targeted nothing less than 85% of the popular vote in the Ashanti region, reassuring that “we will get it in 2016.”
But, unhappy with the comments made by Nana Addo, the Ashanti Regional NDC in a press release signed by its regional youth organizer, Brogya Genfi said the initiative will definitely be achieved saying “the NDC youth in Ashanti remains resolute to lead the battle and with the determination of the General Party, operation 1 million votes in Ashanti in 2016 election will be a reality.”
He argued that the NDC is poised towards achieving that aim because the party” has grown from strength to strength in Ashanti Region since 1992” adding that “The era of wicked stigmatization against the NDC is over. In fact, the average youth from Ashanti prefers and would easily join the NDC compared to NPP.”
“Our hard work coupled with the massive development by His Excellency President John Mahama in Ashanti, we shall get the 1 million votes or more in 2016- Insha Allah,” he added.
