Vice President Kwesi Amissah Arthur on Saturday led the people of Koforidua in the Eastern Region to clean gutters and other filthy areas.
The exercise was to mark the 5th National Sanitation Day which was held nationwide.
The Vice President expressed delight at the high spirit of patriotism in the residents of Koforidua because they came out in their numbers to partake in the exercise.
Speaking to the press after the exercise, the Vice President admonished the residents not to relent on cleaning their localities saying “I encourage you not to finish the event today but to continue.”
“We have seen a lot of people who have volunteered to improve the sanitary conditions in which the leave and we hope it will continue.”
He also thanked the traditional authorities and residents of Koforidua for making the 5th National Sanitation Day a success.
