The Police have said the 29-year old graphic designer who was killed by armed robbers on Tuesday resisted the robbers.
[contextly_sidebar id=”FTLgWVWcsnYpf0IYkeNjj8inViq1pzPS”]The deceased, Francis Thomas Anderson, who works with E-volution International, was shot by the robbers at his home at Sowutuom near Kwashiman in Accra.
Explaining the circumstances leading to his death on the Citi Breakfast Show, the Public Relations Officer at the Accra Regional Police Command ASP Effia Tenge said, “Our preliminary investigations with this particular robbery indicate that there were some form of resistance from the deceased and that is how come he was shot in the process.”
ASP Tenge added that their investigation also showed that one of the robbers was injured in the process and was bleeding profusely.
She however called on health facilities and the general public to volunteer information that could lead to the arrest of the said robber if he seeks medical attention.

ASP Effia Tenge further advised that “in times of robbery we should not try not to resist our aggressors.”
This she said is “because when they come to you, most of them are on drugs so they come there dazed and any attempts from you to resist them will end them taking your life.”
“They [armed robbers] have nothing to lose anyway, you have your family to protect so in all times once you are alive, you would always have your properties back.”
ASP Tenge said the Police are there to assist in retrieving your property back to you, but reiterated that in such times armed robbery attacks should not be resisted.
The Ecobank Kumasi Abrepo Branch Manager, Samuel Boadi who was also shot in a similar circumstances, is also known to have resisted the robbers.
She made the statement in relation to some murder cases that have been recorded in the country in recent times some of which include the murder of hiplife artiste Kwaw Kese’s manager, Fennec Okyere.
