Scores of fisherfolks at Kpong on Tuesday demonstrated against the chief fisherman of the area, Nii Tetteh Ashong calling for his removal.

A petition was presented to the district assembly after the demonstration.
The spokesperson of the fishermen John Tetteh explained to Citi News’ Elvis Washington that instead of fighting for the cause of the fishermen Nii Ashong “is always [seen] at the traditional council selling lands and he doesn’t help us at all.”
“He is selling the premix fuel and he doesn’t use the profits to develop the beach. He is using it for his own gains,” said John Tetteh.
Meanwhile, the fishermen also performed some traditional rites aimed at removing Mr Nii Tetteh Ashong from the position.
