Ghana forward Jordan Ayew has been named in a four-man shortlist for Lorient’s Best Player for the month of March.
The team played against Evian Thonon Gaillard (on the 4th), Saint-Etienne (on the 8th), SM Caen (on the 14th) and PSG (on the 31st).
They won only one match and that was against Caen.
Ayew scored twice in the month with his strikes coming against Caen and PSG and he is the club’s leading goal scorer in the Ligue 1 with 9 goals from 23 league matches played (1893 minutes).
He is on the shortlist with goalkeeper Benjamin Lecomte who has played 30 league matches (2700 minutes), defender Vincent Le Goff who has played 22 matches (1886 minutes) including the four played by Lorient in March.
He scored in the team’s 2-1 win over Caen.
Fellow defender François Bellugou is also on the shortlist and he has played 14 league matches (1173 minutes).
He started 3 of the 4 matches played by the team in March and has 1 goal. Fans of the club will vote for their player of the month.
