As the Republic joins the rest of the world to commemorate Labour Day, thousands of its citizens will be gathering at one venue to lift their voices up in prayer at 97.3 Citi FM’s annual Family Consecration Service.
The 2015 edition of the Family Consecration Service is set to take place at its traditional home; the auditorium of the Winners Chapel located at Circle in Accra on Friday, May 1.
The Family Consecration, currently in its 10th year, aims to offer persons with belief in the intervening power of God the chance to seek His face in their circumstances including life’s trials and pressures, childlessness, illness, and business challenges.
According to Programmes Manager at Citi FM Jessica Opare-Saforo, “there is a time for everything according to the Good Book and on May 1st, Ghanaians will seek the face of God as they look for breakthroughs in their lives.”
“People are going through a lot in Ghana today. People often say it is a miracle that we survive each day the way we do. I think it is time for us to say thank you to God for His grace and mercy over our lives. This year’s edition of the family consecration service will be a time of deep reflection and ‘earth shaking’ prayer and supplication.”
The head Pastor of Cedar Mountain Chapel Assemblies of God and current Chairman of the Ghana Prisons Council, Rev Dr. Steven Yenusom Wengham, will lead the service.
He will be assisted by Pastors Freddie McDavies and Mike Nuagbewonu both hosts of the stations early morning Christian devotional programme, ‘This is your day’.
“Anyone who turns up at the Winner’s Chapel auditorium of can be assured that we will seek God’s favor as people expect a total turn around in their life, for people searching for a life partner or believing God for help to maintain their marriages.
“There are people who are also struggling with delinquent children and others are looking to God for healing. There will be a series of prayer sessions for all these including prayer sessions for couples with delayed childbirth and for people struggling to keep their businesses afloat. If you are looking to God for a healing or to deliver you from an illness, then the Family Consecration Service is where you should be.”
The Family Consecration Service kick starts the station’s Family Month celebration, which is a month-long celebration of the centerpiece of all societies, the family.
Other activities lined up for the 2015 Citi FM Family Month include the Cook For Mama competition; a cooking contest in which husbands volunteer to cook for their wives ahead of mother’s day on the 9th of May, the Family Finance Series; a daily serving of relevant and prudent financial advice for families on the Citi Breakfast Show, Family Matters: a daily conversation on Traffic Avenue aimed at edifying the family unit and the Citi FM Family Day Out; a one-day outdoor event aimed at creating an atmosphere for families to reconnect and bond.
