Legacy Girls College, a privately owned all-girls boarding school has been opened in Akuse, in the Eastern Region.
It is the first all girls private second cycle institution in Ghana.
One of the co-Founders of the institution, Ellen Hagan said the motivation to establish the Legacy Girls College stemmed from the challenges women face wherever they find themselves.

At the inaugural ceremony where the school was introduced to guests, Co-founder of the College Mrs. Essie Anno Sackey encouraged parents and guardians to bring their children to the Legacy Girls College in order to give their girls the grounding to make a meaningful impact in society.
Mrs. Maranatha Kove, Principal of Legacy Girls College, also added “we have state of the art facilities that makes learning enjoyable and creates a homely ambiance.”
Legacy Girls College has the mission to “nurture the immense potential of girls to be whatever they want to be in a fast changing and increasingly complex world.”
In her keynote address, Mrs. Mawuena Trebah, CEO of Ghana Investment Promotion Centre, said that every girl who goes through Legacy Girls College is destined to lead a legacy for success in life.
She noted that as citizens of Ghana, we need to focus on what is happening internally and commit to the
process of excellence.
