An Accra High Court has for the seventh time adjourned a case of fraud brought against former National Service Secretariat(NSS) head, Alhaji Imoro after state prosecutors asked for more time to finish investigations.
This not the first time prosecutors have asked the court to give it more time to conclude investigations.
[contextly_sidebar id=”P2uE4JYWG6wDkSiysEPf76kB3ehusn7s”]The state represented by Senior State Attorney, Comfort Tasiame, in January prayed a Fast Track High Court Tax and Financial Division to give it a four-week adjournment to allow the prosecution to complete its investigations.
She said the investigations was still ongoing because of the nature of the case.
Alhaji Imoro was arrested and put before court last year after he was accused in a massive fraud at the National Service Secretariat.
He has pleaded not guilty to the charge of stealing GH₡86.9 million belonging to the state.
Imoro was granted bail in the sum of GH₡90 million with three sureties, all to be justified, with property valued at more than one million Ghana cedis.
He was to surrender his passport to the BNI until further notice.
On November 3,last year, Imoro was discharged by a Circuit Court but he was quickly re-arrested and put before the Fast Track High Court.
The Circuit Court was expected to deliver its ruling in respect of Imoro’s bail application but that did not materialise.
