Popular TV presenter and songstress Kokui Selormey was invited to Ridge Church School, her Alma Mater, to speak to the junior high students about her journey towards becoming an award winning presenter and singer.
She told her story of having a dream to become a lawyer and somehow found her passion for opera singing, broadcast journalism and producing TV shows.
She advised the students to set goals for their future careers and aspirations, to have a strong support system and utilize every opportunity available to them.
She mentioned that though in our part of the world, the arts is not highly regarded, the students should not let this deter them, if it is their true passion and dream.
She then gave the platform to students for a question and answer session.
Kokui is currently one of the nominees in the much talked about Vlisco Women’s awards.
At the end of the session, the students took part in voting for the nominee who inspired them the most.
