The Greater Accra Regional Minister has assured investors operating in Kpone industrial area of their security.

Joseph Nii Laryea Afotey-Agbo, said the Kpone-Katamanso District Security Council (DISEC) has put in measures to ensure maximum security in the town.

[contextly_sidebar id=”KBdMTre6sFVt3FSxgeXpjTPx3tqGB5Jb”]He gave the assurance on Friday when he visited the Sunon Asogli Power Plant, four days after irate local youths demonstrated against the Kpone Traditional Council and the managers of the plant.

“I’m assuring Asogli and other investors that we will protect their investment, lives and properties,” he stated.

Mr Afotey-Agbo, who is also the Member of Parliament for Kpone-Katamanso, said he would meet with the youth, traditional council and Asogli management to thrash out the Memoradum of Understanding (MoU) issue raised by the youth during the demonstration.

He therefore called on the youth not to direct their concerns to the management of Sunon Asogli as according to him the company had no agreement with the youth.

He said the whole misunderstanding was due to lack of communication between the youth and the council on the issue.
