The President in his State of the Nation Address talked about some major road projects under construction in the Western Region.
According to the President, work is progressing on the popular Tarkwa, Bogoso, Ayanfuri road, Ayanfuri to Asawinso, the Agona Nkwanta Elubo road and the Kwesimintsim Nkroful bypass.
Citi News checks on these projects confirmed what the President mentioned.
The Tarkwa-Bogoso-Ayanfuri Road for instance is under construction by Reynolds Constructions.
Even before the project comes to an end in 2016, the long hours spent on this 70km stretch and the effects of the potholes have significantly reduced.
However residents along these stretches will have to endure the dust which enters their homes and the vegetation.
Work on the Kwesimintsim Nkroful Bypass, even though should have been completed by now is also progressing steadily.
The delay according to engineers working on the project was due to the extension of the project distance.
This dual carriage when completed will ease the congestion which has characterized the Nkroful Junction Kwame Nkrumah roundabout.
The Fijai Junction Kansaworado bypass has also seen redevelopment. The contractors have finish resurfacing the 1.5km stretch and are currently constructing drains.
In all Citi News can confirm that all road projects in the western region mentioned in the president’s recent state of the nation’s address are ongoing.
