The General Secretary of the People’s National Convention (PNC) Bernard Monah says he will contest the National Chairmanship of the party to make it more vibrant.
According to Mr. Mornah, he is the youthful individual the PNC needs at its national level for electoral battle.
The incumbent General Secretary told Citi News PNC will see significant transformation under his chairmanship.
He said a lot of people have tagged the PNC as old men party hence their resolve to encourage more youth to take up vital positions in the party to reverse the trend adding that “when they see young people taking up including becoming the national chairman and leader of the party, they will have confidence and be inspired the more to be part of the party.”
“The youth constitute a bulk of our society, and so if the youth see that their actions can lead them into the political echelon, they will participate in the process. You also want to avail the energies that one will have on every platform supporting the flag bearer, whosoever will be elected, so that when the national chairman is seen with the flag bearer, it gives more credence to the party that we are together.”
Bernard Mornah also told Citi News female candidates of the party will pay no filing fees for contesting any of the executive positions.
“We have decided that those who are contesting for the flag bearership will pay GH¢10,000 if you are a male but if you are female you will pay no filing fee.”
National Chairmanaship – GH¢5000 (free for females)
General Secretary – GH¢30000 (free for females)
He noted that “all other positions at the national level will pay GH¢1000, free for females. This is our way of letting women taking advantage of the resource constraints that have always been the bane of their participations.
He urged more ladies to take advantage of the offer.
