The Member of Parliament for Yendi has built one maternal health and child care clinic at Nayili-fong and Gnani in the Yendi Municipality.
Alhaji Mohammed Habib Tijani by extension donated an ambulance worth GHC90, 000 to the Yendi Municipal Hospital.

In a Citi News interview, Alhaji Mohammed Habib Tijani said the projects and the ambulance were funded with his share of the MP’s common fund as well as his share of the National Health Insurance Authority levy.
Mr Habib Tijani who served eight years as the Yendi Municipal Chief Executive said quality health care services to his constituents remained top on his development agenda.
“If I reflect over what happened before I got the opportunity as the MP for the area I was in touch with the people and we moved round the whole constituency interacting with the people and health, education, water and sanitation were some of the most important things the people always told me.”
He added, “The people of Nayili fong also felt that it was important for them to also have an additional health facility to ease the congestion at the Yendi Municipal hospital and it was in view of this that I took it upon myself to source funding for this project fortunately I got the National Health Insurance Authority fund which I thought I should put up maternal child and health care clinic in Nayili fong: that is the basis of how I got the money and why I got the clinic for them.”
On the ambulance donation, Mr Habib Tijani explained, “I have also felt that the Yendi Municipality is a big area: Yendi hospital is a referral hospital and following this I decided that I was going to make efforts to get them an ambulance: I also got funding from the National Health Insurance fund in addition to my share of the MP’s common fund I secured the ambulance for the hospital.”
He promised to uplift the image of Yendi constituency if only residents there will deepen their peaceful co-existence.
Mr Habib Tijani lauded health personnel in the Yendi Municipality for their meritorious services and pledged his continues support to improve their efficiency.
The Yendi Municipal Director of Health Services, Denisia Agong commended Hon. Habib Tijani for improving health infrastructure in the area.
She described the ambulance donate by the Yendi MP as a timely intervention.
Denisia Agong cited inadequate personnel, delay in reimbursement of health insurance claims, weak transportation system and inadequate staff accommodation as some of the challenges affecting quality health care delivery.
The Yendi Municipal Chief Executive, Issah Zakaria said government was committed to develop various sector of the local economy there.
He said government built several CHPS compounds at satellite communities to ease the pressure on the Yendi Municipal hospital.
Issah Zakariah further disclosed that government was constructing feeder roads to facilitate easy access to health care services.
