Samsung plans to launch a flagship smartphone with a 5.1-inch screen that’s sloped on both vertical sides, according to a new report.
[contextly_sidebar id=”NaCXLxs6xOwtFGwkVaIyDX0Ltsu6aIaB”]If you’re having trouble imagining how that looks, recall the company’s Galaxy Note Edge, whose screen has one curved side.
If the Bloomberg report is accurate, Samsung will release two smartphones in March, both with a metallic body.
The other phone will reportedly have a regular, flat 5.1-inch screen.
No other details about either device was revealed, and Samsung did not provide official confirmation.
Bloomberg‘s story corroborates a January report that also claimed Samsung will launch two flagship phones, one of which will have a curved screen; however, the older report did not mention the screen curvature on both sides.
It said the two phones will be variants of the Galaxy S6; Bloomberg‘s report also implied this, but never actually explicitly called the devices S6s.
A more recent rumor, based on an apparent promotional photo, suggested that Samsung will launch five different smartphones — some with regular screens, and others with curved screens.
The company is expected to reveal new devices at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona this March.
While no official details about any of them have been revealed, Samsung’s official blog published a lengthy post on Wednesday that said that its 2015 flagship model’s camera will be “intelligent and do all the thinking for users, allowing them to take amazing pictures under any conditions.”
