The Pharmacy Department of the Korle Bu teaching Hospital caught fire on Monday afternoon.
The fire according to officials at the hospitals was caused by a faulty air- condition in one of the offices.
A timely intervention by the fire service prevented the fire from spreading to cause more damage.
Mustapha Salifu, Public Relations Officer for the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital says no casualty was recorded.
“We just want to assure that no patient or staff was injured in this outbreak.”
The damage according to Mr. Salifu was limited to office equipment and furnishing in the room.
He added that the fire has in no way distrupted the services the hospital is rendering at the pharmacy department.
“This has not affected the operations of the hospital,” he assured.
