The Vice presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) for the 2016 elections, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has described the governing NDC as “bad managers of the economy.”
He said Ghana’s economy is in total ruins.
He observed that “from what has been witnessed so far, there is no denial of the fact that the NPP are much better managers of Ghana’s economy than the NDC.”

He stated that in the midst of plenty resources, the NDC administration is still not doing anything practical to deliver the citizenry from their hopeless situation.
According to Dr. Bawumia, since the NDC came into power a little over six years ago, they have mismanaged the affairs of the state and further deepened the economic woes of the ordinary Ghanaian.
He was of the strong conviction that the NPP is a political party that boasts of knowledgeable and competent men and women who could rescue the country from its misery and place Ghana on the path of prosperity.
Dr. Bawumia, therefore, charged the teeming NPP supporters throughout the country to work hard by campaigning vigorously to secure political victory for the party in 2016.
He was addressing party faithful, mostly women, during the maiden Ashanti Regional Women’s Wing Annual Awards Night, which was held at the Georgia Hotel, Saturday.
Dr. Bawumia charged the NPP leadership to devise an effective campaign machinery, placing women in key positions, for the 2016 national elections to help secure victory for the party.
He observed that women form 52 percent of Ghana’s population, therefore, if women are involved in the NPP’s campaign strategy, it would enhance the party’s chances at the polls.
“Fifty-two percent of Ghana’s population is women; this means that women are the only people or group who if they decide to vote for one person that individual could win the elections.”
Nana Ama Ampomah, the Ashanti Regional NPP Women’s Organizer, indicated that the occasion was to honour party people, individuals and organizations for their roles in the growth of the party during the past year.
Dr. Bawumia praised Nana Ama Ampomah for her vision of instituting the awards to motivate NPP members in the region to work harder for the party, urging her to sustain her hard work.
Paul Afoko and Kwabena Agyepong, NPP National Chairman and General Secretary respectively, as well as Bernard Antwi Boasiako aka Chairman Wontumi, the Ashanti Regional Chairman and Otiko Djaba, Women Organiser, were present at the event.
