The Police in Agogo in the Ashanti Region has mounted an intensive search for the girlfriend of a man who was found dead in a bush, Daniel Tweneboah.
Daniel, who was a New Patriotic Party(NPP) polling station executive in Agogo, was reportedly found dead by a relative in a bush.
Reports indicate that the deceased was strangled to death.
[contextly_sidebar id=”OkAMAUeJKXyvDCrKjZesOD3IvUEaAUUy”]According to the Agogo District Police Commander, ASP George Amponsah, Daniel was travelling on his motorbike around 7pm last Saturday when the incident happened.
ASP Amponsah told Citi News that Daniel’s body and his motorbike were found at different locations hence a suspicion of foul play.
The Agogo District Police Commander, ASP George Amponsah said they suspect the girlfriend of the deceased murdered him since she has been on the run after news of his death broke.
“We suspect his girlfriend who is currently on the run…the name given to us was Aisha, that is his girlfriend.”
“She visited prior to the incident. The lady is on the run. I learnt she boarded a vehicle to Accra but the Police is still looking for her,”ASP Amponsah said.
The region has been recording a series of murder cases for sometime now.
A 50-year-old businessman, Alhaji Abdullah Alidu,was shot dead by unknown assailants outside his home at TUC, a suburb of Kumasi last Friday.
The deceased, Alhaji Abdullah Alidu, was found dead in a pool of blood with bullet holes in his head and belly.
