The 2016 Presidential candidate for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, has made a cash donation of GH¢1,000.00 to the victims of the Osu fire incident.
The incident which happened on Friday, January 2, 2015 lead to the death of a six-year-old girl and a nine month old baby, when fire gutted a two-storey building at Kuku Hill, Osu in Accra.
The NPP flagbearer accompanied by the party’s General Secretary, Kwabena Agyepong, National Youth Organiser, Sammy Awuku, 1st Greater Accra Regional Vice Chairman, Alfred Boye, Deputy Director of Communications, Perry Okudzeto, visited the site of the disaster to assess the extent of damage.
Speaking to the victims, Nana Akufo-Addo described the incident as a “sad and deeply unfortunate one”, explaining that though he was out of Ghana when the accident occurred, he decided to visit the family as soon as possible upon his return.
Nana Akufo-Addo therefore encouraged the family to remain strong in these difficult times and ensure that their faith in God was unshaken.
