Coconut Grove Regency Hotel, Accra has held an awards dinner dance for its staff for their commitment to work to end the year 2014.
This is an event that the owners of Coconut Grove Hotels, Dr. & Mrs. Nduom have instituted in all their Hotels in Ghana that also includes Coconut Grove Beach Resort in Elmina, Coconut Grove Village in Elmina, Coconut Grove Bridge House in Elmina and the Coconut Grove Miner’s Lodge in Obuasi.

In his remarks on the occasion, the General Manager, Ralph Ayitey, was very appreciative on behalf of the Management and Staff to Mrs. Nduom, Board Chairperson of the Hotels and Dr. Nduom for their continued commitment to the Hotels and especially the staff in the quest for total excellence.
Ralph Ayitey noted that whilst other facilities are laying off their staff as a result of the economic challenges in 2014, Dr. & Mrs. Nduom rather dared to increase salaries of staff by up to 55%.
He indicated that the staff felt very motivated to offer guests ‘memories worth repeating’.
A Vice President of Groupe Nduom-(Legal), Mr. Chiefy Nduom, in his speech, was full of praise for the resilience of the staff in delivering excellent service to clients despite the challenges of last year.
Mr. Chiefy Nduom reiterated the commitment of the Board of Groupe Nduom to the Hotels to succeed irrespective of the economic fortunes of the Country.
He pointed out that in other countries like Malaysia the Government offers subsidies to industries as a form of motivation for private individuals to create more jobs in order to reduce over reliance on government for job creation and also availability of infrastructure which makes it easier for to people to establish companies.
He appealed to government to invest in building the necessary infrastructure to make it easier for companies to set up.
He was hopeful that Groupe Nduom will continue to offer Ghana the very best in all the business areas that the Conglomerate Operates.
The best worker of the year who was voted for by the staff was Sani Mohammed who is a Grills man at the Kitchen. Sani has worked for the Coconut Grove Regency Hotel for 14 years.
In his acceptance speech he thanked the management of the Hotel especially to Dr. and Mrs. Nduom for the recognition and the awards and the honor that it carries. He also acknowledged his colleagues for the help and support offered him in the delivery of his duties.
He promised that the award he has received has boosted his morale and that he will continuously work hard and offer his very best for the growth and development of Coconut Grove Hotels.
Present at the Awards dinner were Dr. & Mrs. Nduom, Board members of the Hotels, Staff of the Hotels and their love ones and family.
