Bernard Avle talks to US-based Ghanaian scientist, Dr Fred McBagonluri.
Fred McBagonluri was born in East Legon, Ghana, the second of three sons to David Mac-Bagonluri and Patience Mensah.
He briefly attended the St Augustine’s College in Cape Coast before attending Central State University, from where he gradudated with BS (summa cum laude) in Manufacturing Engineering.
He obtained MS Engineering Mechanics from Virginia Tech and a PhD, Materials Engineering from the University of Dayton. He won 2008 Black Engineer of the Year: Most Promising Scientist, NJBiz Innovator Hero Award and a finalist 2009 NASA Astronaut Candidate Corps.
