Lawyer for Eric Amoateng, has expressed dissatisfaction with the prosecution’s delay in completing his client’s case.
The case was earlier adjourned from November 30,2014 to January, 26, 2015 after the fourth witness; Assistant Superintendent of Police(ASP) John Kweku London failed to appear in court.

Mr. Amoateng’s lawyers were expected to continue cross examination of the investigator, however Derry’s failure to appear in court forced the judge to adjourn the case.
Speaking to Citi News, Amoateng’s lawyer, Charles Pouzing said : “ever since he came back to Ghana after serving his sentence, this trial has began so we are hoping that it will be done… early for him to start his new life but unfortunately its been slow.”
“Its been frustrating partly because there is a charge and also because the man needs to move on and we as lawyers too we have our programmes, once you do not finish one case, its difficult for you to add others if you really want to do a lot of work for your clients so for us it is frustrating so we believe that the earlier these matters are resolved, the better for both the party, the court itself and then the lawyers,” he added.
Amoateng was arrested upon his arrival from the United States where he served a ten year jail term for illegal drug trafficking.
He was subsequently arrested by the Ghana Police at the Kotoka International Airport for possesing a fake passport.
After his arrest, the court granted him bail of GHC 200,000 which he failed to meet.
