The member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) who sued the Deputy General Secretary of the Party, Kofi Adams has withdrawn the case from court.
[contextly_sidebar id=”PRkXJRY3LVkSXP12YYobweU9FEAdy8x6″]Mr Yaw Osei Gyamfi dragged Kofi Adams to court to challenge his eligibility.
His earlier claim was that, the suspension of Mr. Adams by the party in 2012 still hanged over his head and thus, could not contest.
The plaintiff, Yaw Osei Gyamfi had prayed the court to nullify the bid by the NDC Deputy General Secretary, Kofi Adams to contest for the National Organizer position.
In a swift turn of events, Mr. Gyamfi through his lawyers announced in court they were no longer interested in pursuing the case.
The Accra High Court however awarded 2,000 Cedis in damages to the NDC, its Chairman and Kofi Adams after the case was dropped.
Mr. Adams who is currently vying for the party’s National Organizer position had earlier told Citi News that most of the NDC’s bigwigs support his bid.
According to him, he received calls “from party founders, party executives saying that before your announcement we had been thinking about it that we are going to propose it for you to consider and push it down your throat.”
In a related development, Former President Jerry John Rawlings in a seperate interview with Citi News also emphasized the need for Kofi Adams to be elected as the National Organizer to help the party regain its “lost integrity.”
