The founder of the Progressive People’s Party (PPP), Dr. Papa Kwesi Nduom has advised government officials to treat Ghanaians with respect when they complain of harsh economic conditions.
“When we the people complain about difficulties that confront us as we live in our own country, leaders in government will show us some respect and talk to us in a manner that will give us hope for a better tomorrow,” he said.
This was among the many things the PPP founder wished for the nation and its citizens in the coming year.

He also wished that “all of us in leadership positions in the country will work hard to improve the living conditions of workers, the poor, aged and children.”
He charged the President to support the wish of Ghanaians by ensuring the 1992 Constitution is amended to allow the election of District, Municipal, Metropolitan Chief Executives (MMDCEs).
Dr. Nduom also admonished President John Mahama to ensure the 1992 Constitution is amended to separate the Office of Attorney-General from the Ministry of Justice so that an “Independent Prosecutor can lead a serious effort in the war against corruption.”
The 2012 presidential candidate of the PPP’s also wished that Ghanaian citizens “will find it in their hearts to support Ghanaian enterprises to become stronger, more prosperous and that our government will support them through the judicious use of its purchasing power.”
He observed that 2014 was a difficult year for business owners and managers who were burdened with working though “rough economic times without help from any quarter.”
“I salute the Ghanaian entrepreneurs and the managers who have forged ahead and invested their monies right here at home with the hope that a brighter future is ahead of us,” he said.
“God bless each and every one of them and reward their actions with success. And God bless the Ghanaian workers who labour diligently rewards them with better wages and a just pension.”
It was his prayer that Ghana will become a country which is stronger and its people more prosperous in 2015.
