The officials of the Electoral Commission (EC) have began counting the votes of the 3,354 delegates’ of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) who voted in Saturday’s national delegates’ congress.
[contextly_sidebar id=”j7Vmdr6SVTdVB9xkgyjrxo0Ei6yDMHO0″]Voting began after midday after key some personalities in the party including its founder, ex-President John Rawlings addressed the delegates’ on the way forward for the party.
98 persons were aspiring to various national executive positions in the NDC but a national chairman aspirant, Alhaji Hudu Yahaya withdrew his candidature a few minutes to the commencement of the election process.
The 97 aspirants are seeking to occupy 11 national executive positions of the NDC.
Meanwhile, the EC has announced that only one agent of each candidate is being allowed to witness the counting process.
