The National Democratic Congress (NDC) Member of Parliament (MP) for Afram Plains North, Emmanuel Aboagye Didieye is threatening to secure a court injunction on the party’s impending National Delegates’ Congress to elect new national officers.
Emmanuel Aboagye Didieye who is vying for the position of National Organizer of the party says there is an orchestrated attempt to disqualify him.
[contextly_sidebar id=”9E2oCxtivdeCnkiGee4tq8BREiLDqvyi”]Aboagye Didieye was cited as one of the six aspirants who withdrew from the race by the party’s General Secretary Johnson Asiedu Nketia.
But speaking to Citi News, the Afram Plains North MP said: “I have never withdrawn and as such Im giving them an ultimatum up to Monday morning 10: 30. I know all Ghanaians and every organization is under a Supreme Law which is guided by Ghana and as such, infact I may lose confidence in my National Executives. I have never withdrawn.Its a lie.”
The party is expected to go to the polls on December, 20, 2014 in the Ashanti Region.
General Secretary Johnson Asiedu Nketia has said the party has put in place measures to ensure a successful congress.
Meanwhile the party’s Youth and Women caucas held its congress in Kumasi and Wa respectively last Saturday to elect organisers and deputies for the two positions.
Incumbent National Youth Organiser Ludwig Hlodze has been defeated by Sidi Abubakar Musa while Joyce Mahama Zainab has been elected the new National Women’s Organizer.
