President Mahama joined some residents in Kumasi in the Ashanti Region to clean up some areas in the region last Saturday.
The clean up exercise formed part of activities to mark the 2nd edition of the National Sanitation Day.
The local government Ministry initiated the campaign in November 2014 to rid the country of filth after several hundreds of people died from a cholera outbreak.
Government set up the first Saturday in each month as a national cleaning day.
Meanwhile the Accra Metropolitan Assembly has said it is satisfied with public participation in the nationwide clean-up exercise.
Many Ghanians failed to participate in exercise but the AMA has said it is satisfied with work done.
Speaking to Citi News, the Public Relations Officer of AMA, Numo Blafo said “we had some successes .I will say Saturday’s activities were much better than the maiden one we had last month”
