A Ghanaian Times Reporter, Edem Mensah was physically assaulted by family members and friends of Nayele’s accomplices who appeared before an Accra circuit court on Monday.
[contextly_sidebar id=”d4Wsx5TM8dJlTvOrku6HE14mWPxq0bzb”]The reporter attempted taking photographs of the three accused persons, Alhaji Dawood and two other girls who allegedly aided Nayale to enter the UK with about 12kg of cocaine.
Citi News’ reporter, Franklin Badu Jnr who was in court said the move provoked some family members of the accused persons, who attacked the reporter in an attempt to confiscate his camera.
He said the family members numbering about 15 physically assaulted Edem Mensah but some journalists who were around came to his rescue.
Meanwhile, the Accra circuit court will rule on an application for bail applied by Alhaji Dawood and the two lady’s.
Alhaji Dawood, a businessman is alleged to have facilitated Nayele’s access through the VVIP lounge at the Kotoka International Airport.
He earlier explained to the court he turned himself in to the Bureau of National Investigation (BNI) and not arrested as being speculated.
The other two, Nana Akua Amponsah and Sadalia Sandra Nuhu, both business women, are alleged to have traveled with Nayele but abandoned their luggage and managed to abscond after she was arrested at the Heathrow Airport.
The two were later arrested when they returned into the country and are currently facing trail in Ghana.
