A self-acclaimed pastor, Justice Osei Kofi, 48, founder and leader of the “Mogya Kͻkͻͻ” Church (Red Blood Church) at Abofu near Achimota in the Greater Accra Region has been arrested by the police for allegedly robbing an energy company.
He is alleged to have conspired with two others who are currently serving a 15 year jail term, to rob Cemix Company Limited, dealers in generator sets in Accra.
[contextly_sidebar id=”NI6zk7OFfZrkmPtdUBSfKqWWMENxQreT”]Addressing the media in Accra, the commander of the Greater Accra Regional Police Command DCOP Christian Tetteh Yohunu said on November 4,2011 at about 11.00 am the suspect, Justice Osei Kofi and his two accomplices armed with a knife and a pistol attacked the Managing Director of the company and made away with GH85,000.00 and $320,000.00 and 111,000 euros.
He added that one of the accused persons Avo Kevorkion, a Lebanese national and an employee of the company introduced the suspects to the Managing Director as prospective buyers.
“The Managing Director raised an alarm immediately the robbers left his office attracting the attention of the public including a motorist who pursued them, as they hopped into a taxi cab,” the commander said.
DCOP Yohuno said the pastor, Justice Osei managed to escape with the booty “and has since been on the Police wanted list until he was arrested through police intelligence in his hide-out at Techiman in the Brong Ahafo Region over the weekend. The suspect has confessed to the crime and he will be arraigned before court”.
He advised companies not to stash huge sums of monies in their offices but rather “huge sums of monies should be sent to the banks for safe keeping.”
