The Great Consolidated Popular Party (GCPP) is demanding an apology from Parliamentarians for refurbishing the chamber with Chinese products.
Parliament after months on recess, resumed sitting in a newly refurbished Chamber fitted with sophisticated gadgets all aimed at enhancing the work of Ghanaian lawmakers.

But in a press release signed by Chairman and the 2012 flagbearer of the GCPP, Dr. Henry Herbert Lartey, said “I cannot fathom this; how on earth did the legislative arm of government set aside the buy made in Ghana goods campaign which can save our country from the economic doldrums which we find ourselves.”
“The purchase of Chinese made furniture instead of Ghanaian quality wood furniture to refurbish parliament is a big let down to Ghanaians as Ghanaians have bought into the domestication concept,” he said.
Mr Lartey cautioned that such practice “would continue to push our people into economic hardship…unemployment and more.”
He said the GCPP will continue to preach the concept of domestication.
