The Alliance For Accountable Governance (AFAG) has said that President John Dramani Mahama’s poor leadership has destroyed the reputation of late President Atta Mills.
Speaking on the Point Blank section on Eyewitness News, the General Secretary of AFAG, Arnold Boateng said “ why should we not demonstrate against a government that is not competent…when Prof Mills is even ashamed of Mahama.”
According Mr. Boateng, Ghana’s challenges have increased under the Mahama-led administration, accusing the government of failing to fight corruption.

The Ghana Integrity Initiative (GII) recently raised concerns over what it described as failure of State Institutions to prosecute persons and institutions indicted by various reports on corrupt schemes within state agencies.
It said the state has failed to police the public purse even after the Auditor General discovered that majority of public servants have largely contributed to causing financial loss to the State.
Speaking on the issue, Mr. Boateng said government has not done enough to fight the canker.
Mr. Boateng also criticised the decision by government officials to bloat the cost of major projects that are being undertaken.
“We have raised a number of issues for Ghanaians to see…Kasoa project and circle interchange projects have been bloated,” he said.
Speaking on the same platform, the Director of Operations for AFAG, Abu Ramadan said “Value for money for the projects that we[Ghana] are undertaking is not what we are getting.”
He said “over the last six to seven years, government has borrowed more than any regime has borrowed or the regimes combined have borrowed.”
AFAG has therefore resolved to embark on a massive demonstration on Wednesday, November 12, 2014 to protest poor living conditions in the country.
