One arrest has been confirmed in Bunkprugu -Yunyoo in the Northern Region after calm returned to the district following clashes between two royal families.
Police intensified their patrol in the area after the clashes between the two Bimoba factions on Saturday left a thirty-five year old teacher butchered and over thirty five houses burnt.

“We’ve made one arrest as at now, but we are still investigating. I wouldn’t like to put his name on air for now. Right now it is very calm and we are still patrolling and going on with our investigations.”
He assured the public that the police was in control of the situation and called for their [the public] assistance in their investigations into the incident.
“The should stay calm and provide the police with all the necessary information that will help us unravel the circumstances leading to the disturbances in the area,” he said.
There has been similar attacks in the area, leading to the death of several people in the area.
In April, three persons were shot and wounded while 16 houses were torched at Bongini, a village near Sakogu in the Bunkpurugu-Yunyoo District.
Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Ebenezer Tetteh, Northern Regional Police Public Relations Officer stated that one Sakuaka Dinja, 28 was allegedly shot in the head and killed by unknown assailants.
