Residents in Bimbila in the Northern Region are asking for a reduction in the hours of the curfew imposed on them.
The Ministry of Interior, about four months ago, placed a twelve hour curfew on the Bimbilla Township because of a deadly shooting which led to the death of the overload of the town, Naa Dasana Abdulai Andani II.
The shooting was triggered by a disagreement between two chieftaincy factions over where to bury the late chief of the town, Nakpaa-Naa Salifu Dawuni.

Some of the residents who spoke to Citi News expressed satisfaction with the curfew but called for an immediate review of the time.
A trader in the area said “The security is tight alright but it is affecting our businesses here because prior to the curfew, we used to sell in the night so they should review it.”
Another resident said “We are now ok with the curfew, because everywhere you go, there is peace. But they should review the curfew hours for us.”
An opion leader in the area also said, “Considering the situation as at now, I think the security situation is relatively calm so I think left to District Security Committee (DISEC), they know exactly what is happening but to me I think the curfew hours should be reviewed.”
