The Naakpa Naa faction in the Bimbilla chieftaincy dispute has decided to head to the Supreme Court to seek finality on the matter.

The decision follows a declaration by the National House of Chief that the late overload of Bimbilla, Naa Dansana Adani Yakubu II is the legitimate chief of the area.

[contextly_sidebar id=”DcdB352RQxZt3t5vEKGL6fv0QTqyEiXH”]Before the declaration, the family of the late Naa Salifu Dawuni, appealed against a ruling of the Northern regional House of Chiefs on the same matter prompting the National House of Chiefs to take over the matter.

Naa Andani Yakubu was murdered while the case was still pending at the National House of Chiefs.

The murder and surrounding developments compelled the Minister of Interior, Mark Woyongo to impose a curfew on the township.

Days after the ruling, a local journalist in Bimbilla, Mohamed Ameenu Alabira has told Citi News that the Naakpa Naa faction has announced plans to proceed to the Supreme Court to seek closure on the matter.

“The other side[Naakpa Naa faction], two days after the verdict said the elders are still considering going to the Supreme Court”

According to Mohamed Alabria, “their[Naakpa Naa]  elders are in Accra and they are still considering when they will go to the Supreme Court.”
