A Press Secretary to New Patriotic Party Flagbearer hopeful Alan Kyeremanten,  Chief Obosu  has described the alleged attack on a member of Alan’s campaign team as unfortunate.

Some supporters of NPP flagbearer hopeful Nana Akufo-Addo, beat up a member of the campaign team of Alan at the studios of Adars FM in Kintampo in the Brong Ahafo region on Saturday.

The victim, Nana Adu, who is a Communication Director of Alan Kyeremanteng in the area, is said to have reportedly gone against the party’s rules and thrown his weight behind Mr. Kyeremanten.

[contextly_sidebar id=”jkgWXqCAMIeoZrT2FdvVkyDHnvx8gIuf”]He was attacked by known supporters of Nana Addo when he appeared as a panel member on a news review programme on Adars FM  in the region to speak for his candidate.

Speaking on Eyewitness News, Obosu said : “it is very unfortunate that such incidents have occurred. Indeed I think that our party is a democratic party, people are entitled to choose whoever they wish to support so the fact that they have gotten to a stage where people will criticise and malign their colleagues because they have contrary opinions is most unfortunate”

Meanwhile a group calling itself Volunteers for Nana Addo in the region has called on the rank and file of the party to cease fire and allow all the candidates and their supporters to campaign without hindrances and intimidation.

In another development, Chief Obosu has said Alan’s camp has received a welcoming reception from delegates in various regions.

“The team is currently in Accra . We have just returned from the Brong Ahafo region where we received a warming welcome from delegates.Hopefully tomorrow, the campaign team will head to Western region where we will take our message of hope.”
