Disgruntled youth in the Sefwi Bodi District of the Western Region have given President John Dramani Mahama a three-day ultimatum to sack the DCE for the area or face their wrath.
[contextly_sidebar id=”smXtlevKkuJsyazpqtapI1ctw1fP8Cr1″] According to them, the DCE, Solomon Fuachie has been engaging in certain corrupt practices which has affected the development of the district.
They accused the DCE of embezzling over GHC2 million meant for the development of the district.
Speaking to Citi News, spokesperson for the youth, Agyeman Anim said such practices by the DCE is making the President and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) government unpopular in the area.
“We are giving him three days because what the DCE is doing is not helping anyone. His action and conduct is making the president unpopular here. He puts his interest ahead of a whole district and ahead of the good people who voted for the president to become president before he even got the power to appoint him [DCE]. So we are calling on the president to remove the DCE,” he stated.
Agyeman Anim also disclosed that they would embark on a demonstration exercise if the president doesn’t adhere to their plea.
“It has become serious and we cannot contain it any longer. That is why we are appealing to him [president]. We are planning on organizing a massive demonstration that we don’t like the DCE and that the president should change him,” he declared.
