An Accra Fast track High Court has set September 30, 2014 to rule on a motion filed by the New Patriotic Party (NPP) praying the court to throw out an application filed by a member of the party David Hoezame.
Hoezame is challenging the status of the national council of the party.
According to the party led by its lead counsel Godfred Dame, the case brought before the court was frivolous and lacked merit.
[contextly_sidebar id=”C23Rw19dBJYx3rY1gUpS3PLzqSdOC72a”]He argued that Hoezame failed to adhere to the dictates of the constitution of the party which spells out clearly how grievances by members of the party should be dealt with.
On his part, counsel for Mr. Hoezame, Peter Davies said his client “could not possibly have adhered to the provisions of the NPP’s constitution because the party’s national council which he is challenging hadn’t being properly constituted.’
He added that his client could not trust he would have been given a fair hearing.
In August, a high court presided over by Justice K.A. Ofori Atta dismissed an application for an interim injunction against the NPP’s super delegates’ congress.Ghana.
