Inmates of the Nyohini Children’s Home in Tamale are crying for hygienic water.
As Tamale’s premier orphanage which currently has a population of 25 needy children including a three week abandoned baby girl, it is bedeviled with numerous challenges and water scarcity is the major one.
Management of the orphanage keeps appealing to government, civil society organizations and philanthropists to help connect pipelines to the orphanage.
Touched by the plight of the orphans, a Non-Governmental Organization called Mawuenam Foundation Ministry has donated to two big poly tanks, used clothing, confectionary and detergents worth thousands of cedis to the Orphanage.
Leader of the delegation, Rev. Cephas Awudzi told Citi News the contribution was a divine intervention which according to him will be sustained.
Rev. Awudzi said his organization had adopted the Orphanage and will encourage its congregation and other well meaning people to support the orphans.
Director of the Nyohini Children’s Home, Mrs. Augustina Quainoo described the donation as timely.
She thanked the Mawuenam Foundation Ministry but requested for plastic chairs from other philanthropists.
