The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has condemned the attack on the Daily Graphic sports journalist, Daniel Kenu and has issued an apology to him.
Barfour Gyan, the senior brother of Black Stars striker Asamoah Gyan allegedly led some “macho men” to assault the Daily Graphic reporter after he asked Asamoah his views about rumours that he [Asamoah Gyan] had used his friend and popular hiplife artiste Castro, for rituals.
The question apparently infuriated both brothers, hence Barfour’s decision to send the strongly-built men to “teach the journalist a lesson.”

This is the second time Barfour has been accused of such an act over the same matter, after a similar assault on Joy FM’s Benjamin Tetteh.
The incident happened at the resort where Castro is purported to have drowned when he and Asamoah Gyan and a few friends were holidaying.
Meanwhile, Baffuor Gyan has been granted bail by the Police in Kumasi after he turned himself in when Police declared him wanted over his alleged involvement in the incident.
Confirming his bail to Citi News, the Public Relations Officer of the Ashanti Regional Command, ASP Tanko Ibrahim said the former Black Stars player has written a caution statement and will assist with investigations.
