A founding member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Kwame Amoako Tuffour has accused the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) party of bribing members of the NPP to frustrate the leadership of the party with lawsuits.
“If you are a true member of the party, you will like anything that you don’t like in the party be settled within the party. We know the NDC is going all out to buy people even this election that we are going to have on Sunday,” he asserted.
The NPP will be heading to a Super Delegates Congress on Sunday to prune the number aspirants vying for party’s presidential ticket in the party from seven to five.
However, the upcoming congress hangs in the balance as a member of the party, David Hoezame has filed a lawsuit in court seeking to restrain the party from holding the congress.
In an interview on Citi FM’s EyewitnessNews, Dr. Kwame Amoako Tuffour noted that the NDC is helping people hinder the NPP’s attempt to elect a presidential candidate.
“There are certain people who are going around with a certain game plan. We know the NDC is going all out to buy people even this election that we are going to have on Sunday”
“Lots of people are saying this government is corrupt, and we have seen Woyome scandal and all that”, he added.
Dr. Tuffour refused to substantiate his allegations, but insisted he was waiting for the NDC to deny his accusations before he provides evidence.
“It is not everything that I have to spell out, if they come out to say that i have accused them wrongly then I can come out and prove my point. I am saying they paid bribes if you don’t believe it thank you,” he stated.
