All mobile phone users regardless of the network will from 8th September 2014, use a common short code to check, top up credit as well as access call centres.
This follows the National Communications Authority’s (NCA) move to harmonize all short codes for general customer services across all networks.
The National Communications Authority however indicates the existing short codes for the various telcos will run concurrently with the new uniform ones until April 2015.
To recharge, users will use 134, 124 to check balance and 100 for the call centre.
The others are 600 for number portability, 400 for verification of SIM, 108 for Voice Mail Deposit and 109 for Voice Mail Retrieval.
