Six persons have been reported dead in the Daboya district of the Northern Region.
They got drowned in the Daboya river on Tuesday, August 26 when the boat they were travelling with capsized.
Among the dead are a couple who are yet to be found by a search party.
District Chief Executive for North Gonja, Sorku Yahuza confirmed the disaster to Citi News but could not establish the exact death toll.
He said the police was conducting investigations to unravel the cause of the disaster, the number of passengers who were in the boat, the number of dead persons and survivors if any.
Families of the deceased are mourning in Daboya and its environs.
